MDS Project: Welcome Banner

MDS welcome bannerMDSwelcomebannerhangingWELCOME! I love scrapbooking and making cards in MDS, but I also love coming up with different projects using this terrifically versatile software!

Today I’m sharing this welcome banner project I made using My Digital Studio by Stampin’ Up! This banner was made this past summer for my New Catalog Open House. To make the banner within MDS, I used a blank template for 5″ x 7″ postcards. I made the banner to be viewed in both directions, so the postcard was perfect for that! The back of the “W” is an “E”, and so on…

The digital items I used for this banner are all from a kit called Lemonade Stand, which was a download available only during Sale-A-Bration several years ago. I used a font on my computer called “Irish Spaghetti.” It was a free font, but I don’t recall where I got it.

Once the banner pieces were sent back to me from the printer, I used a corner rounder punch on all the corners, punched holes for the jute to go through, and tied black grosgrain ribbon (retired) as an accent.

As a bonus, since I used “postcards” to make the banner, and envelopes are included with postcards when printed through Stampin’ Up!, I have all the envelopes that came with the postcards to use for sending 5″ x 7″ cards. That will come in handy!

Postcards in MDS are available in 3 sizes: 5″ x 7″, 4″ x 9-1/4″, and 3-1/2″ x 5″ – select portrait or landscape.

If you’re local, I hope you’ll join me for my FREE “Getting Started with My Digital Studio” class. Email me TODAY to RSVP. I’m closing registration at 8 attendees!

[VIDEO] MDS Card Project: CASE the Catty

One of my new favorite techniques in MDS right now is to find a card from an old catalog and copy it using My Digital Studio! For this card project, I used a sample from the 2009-2010 Stampin’ Up! Idea Book & Catalog and made it my own. In addition, you’ll see me use the re-coloring tool in MDS… very fun!

Great Reason to Use My Digital Studio #7: Use Digital Downloads from MDS in Photoshop (if you already use it)

Maybe you are smarter than me and understand how to use Photoshop. Maybe you’ve even been using Photoshop for years for digital scrapbooking. I have great news for you! My Digital Studio content downloads CAN be used in other software besides MDS.

And…

Great Reason to Use My Digital Studio #8: Use Digital Content from Other Sources (non-MDS) in the MDS Software, Too!

Digital content from sources other than My Digital Studio can be used in MDS! As long as they are compatible with the program and you know where to put them in your program files, you’ll be able to use them similarly to how you use the regular MDS content!

I hope by now you are as excited about this My Digital Studio software as I am! I’d love to show you even more, so RSVP today for my FREE “Getting Started with My Digital Studio” class on November 7th.

24 Quick & Easy Cheerful Tags!

24 quick and easy Christmas gift tags! Visit www.mirrorimagecrafts.com for more projects!

I made these 24 Christmas gift tags in less than an hour. I used the Note Tag Punch, Trim the Tree designer paper stack, and the Cheerful Tags photopolymer stamp set. We’ll make tags during my Handmade Holidays class too, so plan to attend on November 14th! The tags we will make for class will be slightly different (bigger) and we will make about 8-10 of them rather than 24 – because we have FOUR other projects to make that night!

Head over to my Facebook page to never miss a project I post there! I appreciate it! Have a crafty day!
